Executive Masters in Business Innovation (EMBI)

The aim of SCE and the European Business School (EBS) in working together is to strengthen the field of Executive Education. The joint development of the Executive Masters in Business Innovation (EMBI) was a first step in this direction. One specific focus of the EMBI is on innovation management: management of the entire process from the development of an idea to its commercialization, to releasing a new product onto the market or founding a new venture. The primary aim is to provide EMBI students with a complete overview of the realm of business innovation to enable them to think systematically and entrepreneurially. The EMBI comprises the following key elements:
 

• strengthening the integration of single elements within value creation (idea   —> product —> market)
• integrating continuous improvement into every strategy
• promoting interdisciplinary approaches
• fostering international thinking
• supporting the recognition of soft skills as success factors

The partnership is headed by Prof. Dr. Klaus Sailer on behalf of SCE and Prof. Dr. Ronald Gleich on behalf of EBS. The two directors offer students the possibility to participate in individual EMBI modules as well as taking the entire EMBI course. This offers those interested a good opportunity to deepen their knowledge in certain core subjects that are specifically relevant to their own profession. Should any student later decide to take part in the whole programme, all the modules already taken are fully acknowledged both in financial terms and in academic credits towards examinations.
