Assaf Shamia
As a member of the New Venture program at SCE, Assaf leverages his scientific, startup and venture capital background to coach and advise startup teams and aspiring entrepreneurs on new venture creation, strategy, finance and startup operations.
„Many entrepreneurs have a tendency to over-focus on the product or service they wish to introduce, while neglecting the critical task of understanding customers and their true needs. At SCE we are passionate about aligning products and services with a clear market need and encourage entrepreneurs to spend time with real customers and adjust the product and business model according to the feedback they receive.“
Before joining SCE, Assaf served as a principal at Carmel Ventures, one of Israel’s premier venture capital funds, focusing on web and software investments. During his eight-year tenure, Assaf led hundreds of due diligence processes and handled dozens of investment transactions.
Prior to his venture capital career, Assaf worked as a product manager and software developer for several software startups including NetRM inc. and Peldec Decision Systems.
